A Work In Progress....
(updated 4-24-2005)

I’ve got a feeling that the starting units on the field in the spring game will not be exactly the same units this fall. With transfers and freshmen in camp we may see several new starters. The defense is way ahead of the offense at this point. Those of you that wanted Western Kentucky or New Hampshire for an opening game, do you see what we were talking about when we said a tune-up game would be good for the team. Steve Walker had some good moments but Coach Bohl is right about him not being a practice player. Ryan Parsons is quick on his feet. I wish he wouldn’t have gotten hurt. Nick Jackson dropped several balls and also fumbled early in the contest. The starting offensive line showed flashes of coming together. On one of their better runs, Adam Tadisch got at least 10-12 yards down field and made an effective block on the safety. The right side of the second team offense had several good moments. They were Zach Harrington at center along with Blake Anderson and James Septak. They sprung Mark Moore loose on a couple of long runs including the winning touchdown.

BI Offensive player of the game
Mark Moore. Here is a young man that would start on 80% of the DII teams in the country and 25-30% of the IAA teams and is third string on the Bison. I’m not advocating starting Moore, just commenting on the depth the Bison have at tailback. Travis White had a very good game also.

BI Defensive player of the game
Craig Dahl, this one was easy. Joe Mays was his main competition in this one and it really wasn’t fair because if he had been let loose, he may have had 3 or 4 sacks. Walker was wearing the red shirt and although the refs could have awarded sacks declined to do so at least three times.

Best rookies
#1 Mike Maresh, #2 Joe Lardinois, #3 Nick Compton

Projected starting lineups, based on current roster and spring game (Does not include any known JC transfers).

Defense:
Right end- Alvin Robinson
DT- Justin Frick
Nose- Rod Thompson
Left end- Isaac Lavant
BUCK- Kole Zimmerman
WILL- Mike Maresh
MIKE- Joe Mays
CB- Bobby Babich
CB- Scott Walter
SS- Craig Dahl
FS- Tony Bizal

Offense:
L Tackle- Adam Tadisch
L Guard- Nate Safe
Center- Hugh Medal
R Guard- Justin Buckwalter
R Tackle- Tim Popowski
TE- Andy DelaBarre
WR- Travis White
WR- Marques Johnson
QB- Steve Walker
FB- Tyler Jangula
RB- Kyle Steffes

Notes:
Travis White should be touted as an All-American candidate. The Bison offensive line as projected has an average size of 6-31/2 and 303 pounds. Tyler Jangula is a load, will be a very effective fullback. Shamen Wahington will be a threat every time he touches the ball. Mike Dragosavitch is a much better than average punter. He has really worked at it. He had a 68 yarder among several good punts. Nick Jackson hears footsteps and needs to concentrate on catching the ball with his hands instead of his body. Alvin Robinson had a family emergency and did not play.
