Game Of The Week.... UC Davis (0-0) at Northern Colorado (0-0) Ah yes!!! The newbies of the infamous Big Sky Conference, Northern Colorado, play host to the lowly Great West Football Conference's University of California-Davis... There is no way this game should even be played given the polarity of the Conferences involved in this contest. A knowledgeable D-IAA football fan, such as me, knows this game will be a blowout by halftime. The Big Sky rules!!! Okay, just seeing if you were actually paying attention... Not a bad Doug Fullerton impression... eh? Though I must say that what I wrote won't be totally false. The game will be a blowout by halftime. The game will be played in Greeley, Colorado. Yes, Big Sky and Great West Conference teams will play a football game. But... Now this is a big "but". The "Answer Man" would be thoroughly shocked if UC Davis is not ahead by more than a pair of touchdowns at the end of the first half. Welcome to the Big Sky, Northern Colorado.... now take your whipping. Starting with the Great West's UC Davis. UC Davis 37, Northern Colorado 14.
The Truth Is....
Let me start out by stating that this game will be closer than most Bison fans think... for about the first two minutes. After that, the gloves are off and the Golden Bears will just have to take their thrashing and go home. Seriously folks, I don't mean to disrespect the Concordia-St. Paul football team. After all, the opposition football team should always be respected to a degree. But the Golden Bears football team will be walking into the Fargodome with countless disadvantages... the number of scholarship players, speed, and size quickly come to mind. Not to mention, that Concordia will trot out a new starting quarterback on the 31st of August. So could the Bears upset the Bison? I guess anything is possible, but I don't believe monkeys fly either. Do they? Even though this game may be lop-sided, Bison football season is almost here. And fans, it just doesn't get any better than that... Let the grilling begin!! North Dakota State 49, Concordia-St. Paul 13
