Game Of The Week....
Southern Utah (1-7) at #15 Cal Poly (6-3)
Okay, after nine Bison games this year... it's official... the Northern Colorado Bears have to be the worst DI-AA opponent the Bison have played this year. Geez, the Bears are lucky they played two Division II opponents and SE Louisiana this season or they wouldn't have any wins at all this year. And this is the program that was invited to join the Big Sky Conference? Evidently, the BSC wanted another cupcake on the schedule. Or someone that Sacramento State could actually beat. It's plain sad that the Big Sky Conference would pass on quality programs such as NDSU and SDSU. Even though the Bison offensive line probably played their finest game of the season, the defensive front seven of the Bears was absolutely terrible. Now maybe I was watching the wrong channel, but that was definitely the impression of the Bears I walked out of the Fargodome with...
The Thunderbirds could definitely rain on the Mustangs GWFC parade this weekend. Plus another very unlikely scenario could develop... if Southern Utah defeats Cal Poly and NDSU turns back SDSU, combined with an almost impossible Northern Colorado win over UC Davis on November 26th and a crushing of the Bears by the Wabbits next weekend... there would be a four-way share of the conference title by Cal Poly, UC Davis, SDSU, and NDSU. Each of the teams would have a conference record of 3-2. Interesting, very interesting. Will it happen? I think my chances are better of seeing pigs fly across my living room. Pure and simple, Cal Poly will not lose to Southern Utah. Cal Poly not only has home field advantage but an overwhelming edge on offense, defense and special teams... also superior coaches, cheerleaders, water people, trainers, team chaplains, etc... well, I' not really sure about the last four, but the Stangs should win this game going away... Cal Poly 34, Southern Utah 14

The Truth Is....
South Dakota State (5-4) at North Dakota State (6-3)
After my previous comments, did I give enough credit to the Bison players and coaching staff for the win over Northern Colorado? NO. The Bison did play a nice game and the coaching staff's game plan was clearly brilliant. But do I think the Bison are back to their previous form this season? Close, but it's hard to tell after beating a team that didn't show up. So anyway, the Bison better have their A-game this week. The Wabbits are coming to town and their pissed... a share of the conference title is on the line. So for the particulars of the game, let's ask the Magic 8-ball... Does the Dakota Marker make an extended stay in Fargo or does it make the return trip to Brookings? The Magic 8-ball says that all facets of the game are even, but NDSU holds the home field intangible once again. But the magic 8-ball points out one curious stat... In the past 40 years, the Wabbits have never defeated the Bison two years in a row... North Dakota State 28, South Dakota State 17
