Game Of The Week.... Cal Poly (2-1) at South Dakota State (2-1)
Once again I'll through my yearly tantrum... Okay, I've been a Team Maker (under my alias... hee hee) for the last five years and even so the Bison Insider crew has remained in our same seats throughout the years not in a "Team Makers' section because we like our seats and the people around us who aren't super glued to their seats with their hands firmly in their pockets. But even so... I don't remember reading in the Team Makers by-laws where winning a subway sandwich was a fringe benefit. Now I don't really care about winning a prize, but I would think it would be nice for other people paricularly the fans in general admission to win something. After all, most of the people in the Team Makers section really don't need a sub sandwich... I believe most of us can buy a sub any time we feel like it. But I'm thinking some of the people in the general admission seats (maybe even students) could use a free meal. And again, what is up with the worthless hot tub football toss... just a standing joke with the people in my section. Please bring back the tire roll and the field goal kicking. Maybe have a game for the youngsters at halftime? Or maybe have the Pride of North Dakota play a couple more tunes? Lord knows I'm getting a craving for the 'Hymn of the Republic'. And yet even with all my whining, I'd rather be no other place on a Saturday afternoon or evening in the fall. The Fargodome is where it's at...
But anyway, the this weeks' 'Game of the Week' should be a dandy. Last week, Cal Poly found out they have a pretty good team after their 34-10 trashing of this week's Bison opponent, Montana State, while SDSU's psychie got an uplift even though the Bunnies lost 7-0 to the Montana Grizzlies. Since JD & Bob didn't invite me along for a trip to Bozeman, a Mustang/Bunny clash might force me to buy some $3 gas and head from the Twin Cities to Brookings. Let's take a look at the matchup... I'll call the Cal Poly and SDSU defenses even. The Jacks get a nod for their special teams, while Cal Poly holds a slight edge on the offensive side of the ball. The Bunnies get home field advantage, but I can't neglect a Mustang emotional high after a convincing defeat of the MSU Bobcats... "Confidence make you strong"... Cal Poly 24, South Dakota State 21

Will the roller coaster crash this week? Will the Bison be satisfied or remain hungery? After listening to the WDAY post-game show interviews of the players this past week, I can guarantee... the Bison don't seem satisfied. Usually it's just talk about how the players are going to take one game at a time and of how we'll celebrate for 24 hours and then it's time to get ready for Montana State. There's something different behind the voice of Bison players this year... a confidence and drive that hasn't been present for so many years. This years' Bison teams has game. Something that has been lacking since the beginning of the Babich era. Let's take a look at the matchup... The Bison get a definite nod on defense and special teams. I'll consider the Bison and Bobcats even on offensive potential, while Bobcats get the home intangible. But again, "Confidence make you strong".... North Dakota State 28, Weber State 17
