Game Of The Week....
Montana State (2-0) at Cal Poly (1-1)
Somebody once said, "If you can't complain about something..." Well, folks that person must have been pointing right at me. Even though the Bison traveled down to Louisiana and laid a virtual butt whippin' on the Demons, the person who approved the design of the new Bison road uniforms took a virtul butt whippin' too. And I can't dispute the the nay-sayers. If you can't see the numbers from even the second row of the stands, why have numbers? Are the numbers not important? Did former FEMA director Mike Brown have something to do with this? My first thought when hearing that there was going to be yellow numbers on a white jersey... was are we going to be able to see the numbers? Chalk one up for the 'Answer Man'... And how much did these uniforms cost? I'm sure they weren't on a blue light special. And what is it going to cost to fix this problem by highlighting the yellow numbers with a WIDE dark green border or better yet adding a dark green number.... Did the people responsible ever see such a color scheme? I think not... and probably for the reason stated previously. The green pants are cool, but I'm not crazy about the yellow Nike-type swoosh. But hey, the swoosh will grow on me and the rest of Bison fans. I'll be at the Cal Poly game, so I hope by the time... the Bison athletic department will either modifies the current road jersey or pulls the old road jersey out of storage. But either way, I bet I'd enjoy a butt whippin' of the Mustangs.

Here we go... An elite team from the Great West (Cal Poly) travels to Bozeman, Montana to face an elite team from the Big Sky (Montana State). Conference bragging rights are on the line. IMO, this game will provide some good game tape for the Bison coaches to study next not only week's opponent, the Bobcats, but NDSU offensive coordinator Pat Perles will get a good look at what offensive sets might be successful in a couple weeks against the Mustangs. As for this game, the defenses for both teams are pretty even, but Montana State holds big advantages on offense and special teams. Home intangible goes to the Bobcats, but the Mustangs play a hard-nosed conservative game (i.e. New England Patriots) so don't expect more than 50 total points to be score in this game. .... Montana State 24, Cal Poly 20

The Truth is....
Weber State (1-1) at North Dakota State (2-0)
Last week the Wildcats were throttled 55-17 by DI-A Fresno State and the Bison crushed DI-AA power Northwestern State 35-7... Do the Wildcats have something to prove? Are the Bison ready for a let down? I personlly feel that the Wildcats just aren't that good and the Bison are on a mission to prove they are a DI-AA elite team. But then again? Na... I was right. Expect a big game from the Bison passing game this Saturday particularily Steve Walker to Marques Johnson. Why? The Weber State safeties are big but not necessarily fast, so they can be beaten deep. Not only are the safeties not swift of foot, but overall, speed is just not a big weapon for the Wildcats... Last Saturday, Fresno State scored two touchdowns from punt returns (92 & 84 yards). Shamen Washington should be fun to watch... Enough said... North Dakota State 37, Weber State 21
