'Bison Insider' all started during a rainy evening on July 21st, 2001. Five depressed guys were playing some pool because their round of golf was cancelled due to a thunderstorm. Rich Stevens, Colin Wachter, Dave Peters, Bob Holiday, and J.D. Trainer; all die-hard North Dakota State University Bison football fans, decided to create a little team spirit courtesy of the internet. J.D. was chosen as the lead editor, some say because the other four guys ganged up on him, but mostly due to his wife owning a local web publishing business. The remaining members committed to writing columns for the fledgling web site. So the guys started surfing the net looking for the best web site hosting company available (or a company that would host the site for free). Tripod.com was the winner and within a couple weeks 'Bison Insider' was born. It's amazing what a few adult beverages can do! If utilized wisely....
The founding members of 'Bison Insider' had no clue of the pending popularity of a new Bison football web site. As Rich Stevens says, "Bison Insider has taken on a life of its own." And even though one of the founding members has departed (Colin Wachter), the remaining members took the bull by the horns and added a new member to the 'Bison Insider' staff. Jeff Picard has taken over as the new 'Bison Beat' columnist. Jeff will add a new view to all of Bisonville through his thoughtful insight and dry wit.
So as we launch our new site.... The members of Bison Insider hope that you have as much fun utilizing the site as we have running 'Bison Insider'. Sometimes we might be harsh, but we will always be honest. Sometimes you might question our loyalty to the Bison, but we tell it like it is... good or bad. Thanks from everybody at 'Bison Insider'. Go Bison!!

*Another word of thanks from J.D.:
I would like to thank my wife, Traci, for all the help and for putting up with the endless hours of computer work editing 'Bison Insider'.... Especially since you aren't even a Bison fan. There are a few good people that graduated from the little school to the north of Fargo. Well, at least, one I know of....
